The directors of the non-profit Internet Review Corporation want to thank our readers (both supporters and critics) for visiting this site and considering our thoughts.
We felt that an occasional update on our progress and plans would be appropriate, so here is the first in an occasional series of self exams. We’re very excited to see that in just a few months, Akahele.org (according to Alexa.com) has eclipsed in popularity over a half-million other, less popular websites.
Another happy note to point out… Back in late February 2009, when you searched Google for the word “Akahele”, our site came up about 35th out of over two thousand results. Today, that same search returns our site in the # 2 position, out of about 26,000 links.
That being said, it appears that our traffic is leveling off — too soon, in our opinion! So, would you do us a favor today? Select your favorite Akahele blog post thus far, and forward the link to a few of your friends. By spreading the word, you help us fulfill our mission: educating the general public about elements of the Internet having a measurable detrimental impact on our society.
Guest writers
This Monday, April 20, Akahele will introduce our first editorial contribution by a guest writer. Anyone who is confident enough to append their name to the byline may submit an appropriate guest article to our directors. Simply deliver your submission via e-mail to: comments (at) akahele.org
Our team will work with you, if you wish, to improve your copy. You will always have the final say on the composition, while we will reserve the right to refuse publication.
